Retreat Registration

About Registration

Welcome to registration for the Palyul Summer Retreat. We look forward to seeing you this summer.

Retreat Masters

This year's retreat will have His Holiness Gyangkhang Rinpoche serving as our retreat master and Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche, Khenpo Kunsang Dechen Rinpoche and Khenpo Tenzin Norgay Rinpoche teaching the higher classes. Tulku Luphug Rinpoche returns to teach Ngondro.

These masters offer profound insights and guidance for our spiritual journey and the retreat is a rare opportunity to immerse ourselves in traditional teachings and practices that have been passed down through generations of great masters.

Qualifications

We are required to complete the preceding class session to be qualified to attend subsequent class sessions. Just like in school, we have to build on previous knowledge and practice.

The first year is the preliminary practice. There are no prerequisites for attendance; one can attend no matter what experience one has. We are guided personally by one of our most experienced Palyul monks in all of the meditation practices for this very important class.

Admission to classes in Tsa Lung (year 2) and Dzogchen (years 3 to 8) will depend on your completion of the previous year in-person at the retreat, except for Ngondro. Ngondro students may provide evidence of Ngondro empowerments, teachings and practice to our teachers for evaulation and possible promotion to the subsequent retreat session for which they are qualified.

COVID Policy:
Please review the COVID policy. We are sorry; those not wishing to adhere to the policy above will not be permitted to attend retreat.

Fee Table

Please note that those staying for the one-week session will need to cover fee costs according to the "by night" rate.

Discounts:

Early-bird or Senior--10% Discount:
We require a full payment and registration form, complete and clear with definitive arrival and departure dates, to be received by the office postmarked no later than June 10.

Early-bird 8th Year 25% Discount:
For students who have completed all seven years of our retreat course, we would like to give a chance to attend retreat one week or longer in a shared accommodation at a 25% discount. As with regular retreat early-bird, full payment and registration form, complete and clear with definitive arrival and departure dates, must be received by the office postmarked no later than June 10. One week or longer and shared accommodation required. For returning 8th year students only.

Families with Children:
Children age 4 to 12 can stay with a parent at a discounted rate in a tent or room when the parent is paying the single room or tent fee. So the cost for a tent for the full retreat is $2150 for the parent and $632.50 for each child. (Dorms depend on the dorm selected, but follow the same pattern.)

Family rooms in the South Dorm are based on two parents staying with their children in the same room. Please note, these are very limited in availability. The cost is $2530 for each adult ($5060 for two people) and $632.50 for each child age 4 to 12. It is also possible for one adult to stay in the room with more than one child, but family rooms are limited to triple or more occupancy and families with two adults are granted priority.

Deadline to pay for accommodation
Please remit payment as soon as possible once submitting your application. All registrations must be paid for by June 25 or risk being moved to the waitlist for accommodations.

Cancellation and Refund Policy (NEW):
Please be sure to thoroughly review the cancellation policy here: http://retreat.palyul.org/cancellations-and-refunds and check the box on the registration form indicating you have read this policy.
